In short: We collect only what we need to run the platform. We never sell your data. You can delete your account at any time.
1. Information We Collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We store your voting history to track which polls you have participated in and to prevent duplicate votes. We also store polls and comments you create, your followed topics, and your Circle (following) relationships.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: authenticate your identity and maintain your session; display your profile and activity on the platform; personalise your feed based on your interests; send email digests if you opt in; and send in-app notifications about your polls and followers. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
3. Data Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. We implement access controls to restrict data access to authorised personnel only.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share data with our service providers who help us operate the platform, and with law enforcement if required by applicable Indian law. Aggregated, anonymised poll statistics may be shared publicly.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser local storage to maintain your session and authentication token. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. You can clear your browser storage at any time, which will sign you out of the platform.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and associated data, and opt out of email communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
7. Children's Privacy
Votelytix is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
8. Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notification. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
